I’m Kevin Lewis, and I am an emerging artist who creates vibrant, polychromatic abstract images that explore the landscapes of my inner world.
Often combining the dynamic nature of fluid paint, ink and pastel together in mixed media, I create bold, dynamic, rhythmic compositions that celebrate the emotion of colour and its transformative interactions.
Through deliberate colour choices and an intuitive approach, my work invites viewers into a playful, joyful space where each piece captures a moment and becomes an opportunity for reflection of an individual’s personal thoughts, emotions, and memories.
My art reflects upon my short creative journey, during which I have developed skills and process, and deepened my connection to the expressive possibilities of abstraction.
Kevin has been awarded his first public exhibitions in 2025:
- in March and May, two group shows at Fox Yard Studios, Stowmarket
- in August, a joint show in Bishop’s Stortford’s South Mill Centre ArtSpace
- and a solo show in September, at EDGE Recovery Cafe, Cambridge

Materials & Tools
I love to work with many different media, often combining them on a single work.
I enjoy processes which introduce a level of unpredictability into my work, and materials which are somewhat fluid in nature lend themselves to this approach. You will find me using high viscosity acrylic paints (e.g. Golden’s fluid acrylic and high flow acrylic) and inks, often combining these with watercolour and pastels.
I am happiest when I am holding a Catalyst Wedge. This tool allows me to move paint in a way which feels completely intuitive and allows me to make big and bold expressive gestures that other tools do not, while still retaining a fine degree of control which I’ve learned over time.
